The South African U17 Women’s National Team (Bantwana) will face Ethiopia in the third round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup African qualifiers after the East Africans pipped Uganda in the second round.
Ethiopia and Uganda had played to a 2-all draw in the first leg.
With the return fixture ending in a 1-all stalemate in Addis Ababa, the home side advanced on the away goals rule.
Uganda took the lead in the 34th minute through Shakira Nyinagahirwa before Eyerusalem Wondemu levelled matters two minutes from time to force a 1-1 draw.

Guinea also booked their spot in the third round with a resounding 9-3 aggregate victory over Liberia.
The match was delicately poised at 2-2 from the first leg, but Guinea turned the tables on their opponents in the second leg at the General Lansana Conte Stadium in Conakry as they won 7-1 on the day.
It was the home side who started brightly as they took the lead in the fourth minute before extending it two minutes later – Salematou Diop and Fatoumata Samoura the respective goal scorers.
The West Africans however reduced the deficit in the 32nd minute through Jessica Quachie, but Samoura struck again to restore Guinea’s two goal cushion shortly before the break.
It was one way traffic in the second half as the hosts dominated the proceedings, netting four goals in this period – Fanta Sidibe, Mamam Sata Fancinadouno and Makoto Camara, all getting on the scoresheet for a convincing 9-3 win, and will now face Ghana in the next round.

The Ghanaians had the better of Senegal at the Accra Sports Stadium to advance to the third round.
Taking a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg, the Black Maidens continued where they left off as they scored three in the second half without a reply from the visitors.
Goals from Gerogina Ayisha Aoyem, Princess Owusu and Abdulai Karina in the 49th, 58th and 73rd minutes respectively, were enough to see Ghana through on a 4-0 aggregate victory.

Botswana failed to make home advantage count as they lost 4-0 to Tanzania at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium.
The result in this match was almost a foregone conclusion after Botswana lost 7-0 in the first leg, and it became mission impossible when the visitors struck in the 32nd minute for a first half lead through Neema Paul.
A hattrick by Clara Luvanga (64th, 68th & 83rd minutes) completed the demolition job with an 11-0 aggregate triumph, to set up a meeting with CECAFA rivals Burundi.
