Seoposenwe makes women’s football history in Mexico

Banyana Banyana forward Jermaine Seoposenwe rewrote the Mexican history books in women’s football when she scored the fastest goal in Liga MX Femenil.

The Cape Town born star continues to shine in Mexico for Juarez FC whom she joined last month.

She scored a brace on Monday night (26 September 2022) in a 3-0 victory over Necaxa – this was her third goal in the league.

The history-making goal was scored in the ninth second of the game, with the second coming after the recess (53rd) – and she was named the Player of the Match.

The two goals she netted saw Juarez reach 400 league goals in Liga MX Femenil.

The win also helped her side move up to 11th place on the league table.
Juarez FC next face Pachuca FC – a side they have never defeated in the last five years – away from home.
