Scotland-based South African midfielder, Linda Motlhalo, was on the scoresheet again when log leaders Glasgow City ran riot this past weekend (Sunday, 12 March 2023) – defeating the struggling bottom-of-the-table Glasgow Women 11-0 in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.
The former South African U20 Women’s National Team captain opened the floodgates in the 13th minute, with her teammates joining in on the goal-scoring party – Whelan 15’, Davidson 30’, 41’, Kozak 38’, 76’, Foley 45+1’, Porter 46’, Chinchilla 62’, Clark 65’, Walsh 80’.
This was Motlhalo’s second goal in eight games after making her Glasgow City debut in January this year, following her departure from Sweden in December 2022.
An integral member of the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana squad that is FIFA Women’s World Cup-bound, the midfielder also found the back of the net in the 8-1 victory over Partick Thistle early last month (5 February) – her second match in Scotland.
City has won 20 games and drawn two. They are six points clear at the top ahead of second-placed Celtic.
