The Hollywoodbets Super League is the biggest supplier of players to the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana that is heading to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Sixteen (16) players are on the books of various clubs – Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (6), University of the Western Cape (UWC – 4), JVW (3), TS Galaxy (1), University of Pretoria (1) and Royal AM (1).

With most teams not in action as their players are representing the country, the league’s organisers had to juggle things around to be able to play a few matches so there is no backlog when action resumes after the recess.
The league will take a break after the round of matches this weekend and return after just over a month.
Four matches will take place on Saturday, 1 July 2023 and all kick off at 15h00.

TUT vs City Lads Ladies: 15h00
The last time they were in action (10 June 2023), the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) gave newcomers Copperbelt Ladies a hiding in a 5-0 win. This time the 10th placed students welcome a struggling City Lads Ladies who lost their last three fixtures in a row.
After 18 rounds of matches played, City Lads are 13th with just three wins to their name this season.
The clash takes place at the TUT Pretoria Stadium.

Thunderbirds Ladies vs UJ Ladies: 15h00
In East London, Thunderbirds Ladies will entertain the University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
With no win since 23 April (beating Copperbelt Ladies 1-0), the Eastern Cape side has lost seven matches, with their best result during that period a 1-1 draw against defending champions Mamelodi Sundown Ladies.
Thunderbirds will be hoping for a change of fortunes as they face a team that seems to be on a roll following three wins in a row. Prior to this success, the students failed to get a win in seven games.
Thunderbirds are second from bottom, while UJ is eighth.
Polokwane is scheduled to host two other matches, albeit at different venues.

Ma-Indies Ladies vs Coal City Wizards: 15h00
Bostom of the table Ma-Indies Ladies welcome Coal City Wizards at the Rugby Fields near the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The home side last tasted victory on 22 April when they defeated fellow strugglers City Lads Ladies 3-0. Ma-Indies have lost eight games in a row, conceding 24 goals in the process, while only netting four.
In total, they have lost 16 of the 18 matches they have played, winning the other two.
After a string of seven losses, Coal City Wizards bounced back with a win two weeks ago, but fell to Richmond United just last weekend.
The Mpumalanga outfit lies in 14th position, with three victories this season, one draw and 15 defeats.

First Touch vs Durban Ladies: 15h00
Durban Ladies will be on the road to the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium to visit First Touch Ladies.
The travellers have had a rollercoaster of a season and lacked consistency for most parts – after 19 matches, they have won nine, lost nine and drew one.
First Touch are almost in a similar position but slightly better in 11th place. They have managed five wins but lost 10, with three draws. The results in their last five matches, however, are a cause for concern – DLWDL.
