Like in the last edition of the Sasol League National Play-offs played in 2020, Gauteng took on Limpopo and came out tops.
Will history repeat itself when Tuks Ladies face Copperbelt Ladies in the 2022 edition of the tournament?
The answer will be revealed at 14h30 on Sunday, 23 October at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The finalists had to dig deep to secure their spots in the final.
The hosts defeated North West’s NWU Tawana 2-1 in the first semi-final with a Nomphelo Yakuphi brace while Lerato Adams pulled one back for Tawana to lead to a nervy finish.
Favourites Tuks needed penalties to book their ticket to the final.
After a tough 1-1 stalemate against Lindelani Ladies at the end of regulation time, the Gauteng side triumphed in the penalty shootout, winning 4-2.
Anele Miya had broken the deadlock to put Lindelani Ladies in front, before Gugu Dhlamini restored parity.
The winners of the final are guaranteed R200 000 while the runners up will pocket R100 000 – and by virtue of being in the final, both have clinched promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League for 2023 season.
They are almost certain to replace the struggling Golden Ladies and Tsunami Queens who are in danger of relegation with about five matches remaining in the season, and only a miracle will save the two sides.
