Banyana Banyana to learn their AWCON fate on Friday

The South African Senior Women’s National Team (Banyana Banyana), will know who they are pitted against when the draw for the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2022 is conducted on Friday, 29 April in Rabat.

Desiree Ellis’ charges are among twelve nations that will go into the hat at the Mohamed VI Complex.

South Africa, Botswana and Zambia are the only three representatives from the COSAFA region, and will be joined by hosts Morocco and Tunisia – both from North Africa.

The West of the Continent will put all their hopes on Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Togo and Senegal, while Cameroon and Uganda will carry the flags of Central as well as East Africa respectively.

Four nations will be making their debut – Burkina Faso, Burundi, Togo and Botswana.

Nigeria is the most successful nation in the tournament’s history, having won a record 11 titles.
