WAFCON defending champions South Africa to be based in Oujda as CAF releases fixtures

The Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana will begin the defence of their TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Monday, 7 July 2025 with a Group C clash against Ghana.

The match will take place at the Honneur Stadium in Oujda where South Africa will be based for the duration of the group stages matches.

Kickoff is at 17h00 local time (18h00 SA Time).

The reigning African Champions will next be in action on Friday, 11 July when they take on Tanzania at the same venue at 20h00 local time (21h00 SA Time).

Mali and South Africa will the round off the group stages on Monday, 14 July, also at 20h00 local time.

The 2024 WAFCON kicks off on Saturday, 5 July with a clash between the hosts Morocco in Group A against Zambia at the newly built Olympic Stadium in Rabat at 22h00 (SA Time).

Four days later (Wednesday, 9 July) the Copper Queens will lock horns with Senegal at the El Ba El Bachir Stadium in Mohammédia.

Start time here is 18h00.

Zambia brings down the curtains on the round robin phase when they face DR Congo on Saturday (12 July), also at the same venue at 21h00 (SA Time).

Also in action from the COSAFA region will be Botswana, who open their account in Group B with a meeting with Algeria on Sunday, 6 July, taking place at the Père Jégo Stadium in Casablanca. Kick-off is at 19h00 (SA Time)

This will be followed by a fixture with the most successful team in this tournament, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, on Thursday, 10 July commencing at 21h00. The encounter will take place at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

The Botswana Mares will return to the Père Jégo Stadium for the final match of the group stages games for a date with Tunisia on Sunday, 13 July.

Only the top two teams in each group best places two teams will advance to the knockout stage, which get underway Friday, 18 July, followed by the semi-finals on Tuesday, 22 July.

The final has been scheduled for Saturday, 26 July at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat – it will be preceded by a third/fourth place battle on Friday, 25 July.
