The University of the Western Cape (UWC) returned to winning ways when they defeated Limpopo’s First Touch Ladies 1-0 at the UWC Stadium in Cape Town this past weekend. The Blues snapped a three-match winless run, grabbing their fifth win of the season in 15 outings. The match also saw a debut appearance for Banyana Banyana defender Shakira O’Malley who recently returned from the USA where she was studying. She started with the match.
UWC is 10th on the table, while First Touch is 13th following their seventh loss in 18 games. They have 19 points, one less than the Capetonians.

Durban Ladies went down fighting in a 10-goal thriller as they lost 6-4 to the City Lads Ladies in Gqeberha, with Sthandile Msomi grabbing a brace for the visitors while Ashley Booysen also scored two goals the home team. It’s the third win in a row for the Eastern Cape side, but the Durbanites still lead the head-to-head 5-3.
The result does not help the bottom of the table KwaZulu Natal outfit, who are yet to win a game this season after 18 rounds of fixtures and find themselves bottom of the table with five points from the same number of draws.
The Gunners are 12th with 20 points.

JVW and TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies dished a thrill-a-minute affair in their 1-all draw encounter at the UJ Soccer Stadium in Soweto.
Two goals in either half by each side saw the points being shared – the only match this weekend without a winner.
After 19 games, TUT are second on the table on 35 points, three more than the fourth-placed JVW who have played 16 matches.

TS Galaxy Queens continued with their silent journey towards the title as they defeated Royal AM 3-1 in Pietermaritzburg. Leandra Smeda scored two for the Rockets to help them cement their top three spot – they have 34 points from 15 rounds of fixtures, while condemning Royal AM to their 13th defeat of the current campaign. The latter is second from the bottom with 13 points from 20 games. TS Galaxy Queens also handed Botswana goalkeeper Lesego Moeng her debut in the match.

Reigning Champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies remain top of the log standings after toiling to a 1-0 win over the University of Cape Town (UCT) in Atteridgeville. With two matches in hand, the Brazilians are six points ahead of their second-placed, neighbours, TUT.
Newcomers UCT are eighth on the table with 25 points from 19 outings. Banyana ba Style also gave a run to their latest recruit Ronnel Donnelly who signed from UWC recently.

The struggling Richmond United Ladies caused an upset when they defeated the University of Johannesburg 2-0 on the road. The Northern Cape team is third from the foot of the table with 16 points, with UJ Ladies lying sixth.
There were also wins for Ezemvelo Ladies who beat Copperbelt Ladies 1-0 at the King Zwelithini Stadium, while the University of Fort Hare registered the score line against Tuks in Alice, Eastern Cape.
