Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies made their intentions very clear as they marched on towards another Hollywoodbets Super League title with a dominant 3-1 win over the title-chasing TS Galaxy Queens.
Refilwe Tholakele struck three times in the top of the table clash to register her hattrick for the Brazilians before the Rockets pulled one back through Nomvula Kgoale – but it was too little too late.
The victory sees Banyana ba Style extend their lead to seven points with eight games remaining. Sundowns Ladies have 56 points, while TS Galaxy remains on 48 and in third place.
The University of Fort Hare (UFH) jumped to second spot with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Richmond United Ladies.
The Eastern Cape outfit is now on 49 points while United has 29 and in position 10.
TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies kept up with the chasing pack, defeating City Lads Ladies 2-1 to maintain their fourth position. The Tshwane side is on 44 points, four behind the third-placed TS Galaxy Queens. City Lads Ladies are 13thon 24 points.
JVW laboured to a 2-1 victory over a stubborn University of Cape Town (UCT) in the Mother City – the result was enough to help the Blue Diamonds move to 42 points and cement their fifth spot on the table. The Capetonians drop to eighth and remain on 36 points.
The University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 success against the struggling Durban Ladies. The latter has only managed one win this season in 25 games, losing 19 and drawing 5 – accumulating eight points in the process. The students move to the sixth position on 38 points after 23 outings.
There were also wins for Ezemvelo Ladies and Copperbelt Ladies while only one draw was registered this weekend – with the Varsity Derby between the University of Pretoria (Tuks) and the University of the Western Cape (UWC) ended goalless.
