French Kit manufacturer Le Cog Sportif has dropped the new Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana as well as Bafana Bafana playing kit following a competition by designers last year with the help of the public.
Here is what they came up with:
Away Jersey – Green:
“The new LCS x SAFA away jersey is a celebration of Banyana Banyana’s success in Rabat. Wearing green when they picked up gold in 2022. A statement piece for a statement team who continue to forge the path for generations to come,” said Le Cog Sportif.
Home Jersey – Yellow:
“The New LCS x SAFA home jersey carries the South African flag in both the front and back panel, embodying nationhood, patriotism and essence of Ubuntu. See it donned for the first time when Banyana Banyana flies the South African flag high in Australia and New Zealand,” added Le Cog Sportif
Alternate Jersey:
The jersey was designed by KwaZulu Natal-born Lwazi Ngcungama of FreewayartsD.
“It was a pleasure working on these designs, thanks to Le Cog Sportif, SAFA and the public for choosing mine. Good luck to all the athletes who will be wearing them with pride, may you create more memorable moments that will unite the nation in many way, and best of luck to Banyana Banyana who will be wearing the jersey at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup,” said Ngcungama.
