JVW climbs to second, while Durban Ladies, Richmond United and Royal AM still winless

JVW have climbed to second place on the Hollywoodbets Super League table after a 1-0 win over a stubborn University of Johannesburg during a full round of league fixtures on Sunday, 4 May.

New scoring sensation Bonolo Mokoma continued with her lethal showing in front of goal as netted her fifth goal of the season to become the leading goal scorer after eight rounds of matches have been played.

The Blue Diamonds are on 16 points, six behind log leaders and reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies

Banyana ba Style had a tough day at the office but were able to overcome a strong University of Fort Hare 1-0 to maintain their unbeaten run in the 2025 league season. The students are yet to get a victory against the Brazilians in three outings.

Sundowns Ladies have collected 22 points from seven wins and one draw.

At the other end of the table, the struggle continues for Durban Ladies, Richmond United and Royal AM who are yet to win a match.

The University of the Western Cape

Royal AM suffered the biggest defeat this past weekend when they lost 6-0 to the University of the Western Cape – their seventh defeat in as many games. The KwaZulu Natal outfit is bottom of the table with no points to their name. The win was a reprieve for the coastal students who have not had a good start to the current campaign with three losses, a draw and two wins.

Second from bottom Richmond United Ladies were brushed aside 2-0 by newcomers University of Cape Town (UCT), with the Capetonians registering their second win of the season in six games. The Northern Cape side has played only four matches – suffering three defeats and playing a draw.

After six games Durban Ladies are still to win a fixture – they succumbed 1-0 to TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies, their fourth loss this season. The Tshwane students are currently third on the table with 15 points after four wins, three draws and one defeat in eight outings.

Durban Ladies are third from bottom with two points.
