The race to the Hollywoodbets Super League title is getting tighter with every passing game – both top teams, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and second-placed TS Galaxy Queens registered victories to keep pressure on each other.
The reigning champions returned to the summit of the table after a convincing and dominant 4-0 win over First Touch Ladies at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Sunday (21 September 2025).
Banyana Banyana forward Nthabiseng Majiya scored a brace with Refilwe Tholakele, and youngster Munashe Mugwara chipped in with the other two to help the Brazilians maintain their one-point league at the top.

TS Galaxy Queens, who topped the log standings overnight, were made to sweat for their three points by a stubborn and relegation haunted Durban Ladies at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit – the Mpumalanga outfit won 1-0 to maintain pressure on the defending champions.
With 11 games remaining, Banyana ba Style are on 47 points, while the Rockets are on 46.

As for Durban Ladies, this was their 17th defeat in 22 games – their sixth in a row. They last collected a point early last month (6 August) when they have played to a goalless draw against neighbours Ezemvelo Ladies in a KwaZulu Natal Derby – their fifth of this campaign.
Durban Ladies are yet to register victory this season – the only team with record. Potentially, the KwaZulu Natal side is two games away from relegation – provided they lose their next two games and the University of the Western Cape (UWC) win their fixtures. The Capetonians are 14th on the table with 21 points after 17 games.

In other results from the weekend, third-placed University of Fort Hare (UFH) were held to a 1-all draw by City Lads Ladies in an Eastern Cape Derby at the Westbourne Oval in Gqeberha. The set-back sees UFH lose ground on the log leaders – they trail Sundowns Ladies by seven points and are a further point behind TS Galaxy Queens.
At the Sugar Xulu Stadium in Durban, hosts Ezemvelo Ladies were downed 1-3 by Richmond United Ladies, while the University of Cape Town (UCT) claimed maximum pints against TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies at the Kopano Astro.
Six other teams were not in action for various reasons – JVW, University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies), Copperbelt Ladies, University of Pretoria (Tuks), UWC and Royal AM.

But there will be a full round of fixtures in midweek action on Wednesday (24 September).
- Richmond United Ladies vs Sundowns Ladies
- UCT vs TS Galaxy Queens
- Fort Hare vs Copperbelt Ladies
- Tuks vs JVW
- TUT vs Ezemvelo

Sundowns Ladies will be looking to maintain their lead at the top with a positive result against Richmond United Ladies; TS Galaxy Queens takes on UCT and will be keen to keep up with the reigning champions while the third-placed UFH will want to close the gap on the leading pack when they welcome Copperbelt Ladies.
A tough encounter is expected when Tuks entertain JVW; Ezemvelo will travel to TUT; a repeat of the 2025 Varsity Women’s Football final will take place when UWC meet UJ Ladies within a week; the KZN Derby will unfold between strugglers Durban Ladies and Royal AM while the Eastern Cape’s City Lads Ladies will make the long trek to First Touch Ladies in Limpopo.
