After seven rounds of fixtures in the 2024 Hollywoodbets Super League season, bottom of the table Thunderbirds Ladies are still looking for their first point.
The Eastern Cape side will face JVW in one of the six matches to be played on Saturday, 20 April around the country, with two more scheduled for Sunday, 21 April.
But history is not on Thunderbirds’ side vs JVW.

In six matches, the struggling Bisho-based outfit lost five, with their best result a 1-all draw in the first round of last season.
To date, the Blue Diamonds have fired 16 goals past Thunderbirds who replied with two of their own – they failed to find the back of the net in three matches.
The Eastern Cape side will be hoping for better fortunes when they host JVW at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Bisho at 13h00.
The visitors are ninth on the table.

Banyana ba Style have been dominant in this fixture since the start of the South African elite women’s football league.
In the inaugural season in 2019/20, Sundowns Ladies scored an impressive 7-0 victory before closing off the season with a slender 1-nil win.

Things were no better two seasons ago with Sundowns Ladies collecting all six points home and away in a 5-0 drubbing and followed that up with a 4-2 win in the second round.
In 2023 the Brazilians continued where they left off, winning 1-0 and 3-1.
This will be their ninth meeting – Sundowns Ladies will be confident of another triumph after scoring 31 goals, conceding six in the process.

Third-placed University of Johannesburg will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat in the Varsity Derby against the University of the Western Cape (UWC).
UJ Ladies host Durban Ladies in Soweto at 15h00 with great intentions of keeping within touching distance with the log leaders who are two points ahead.
The KwaZulu Natal side is 11th on the table and will be hoping for a turnaround after losing their last three fixtures.

TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies will entertain First Touch Ladies at the TUT Pretoria Stadium at 15h00. Both teams will have a spring in their step as they come into this encounter at the back of victories in their last outings.
The hosts are in fifth position on 12 points while the visitors are 10th on the table, separated by only three points.

After a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Durban Ladies in their last outing, TS Galaxy Queens will be hoping to collect three points against struggling newcomers, University of Fort Hare.
The two sides meet at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Mpumalanga in an early kick-off (11h00). This will be their first ever clash after the students were promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League at the end of 2023. The visitors are third from the base of the table with four points after six matches, TS Galaxy is seventh.

The first match on Sunday will see the repeat of the 2022 Sasol League National Champs final when Copperbelt Ladies travel to Tshwane for a date with the second-placed University of Pretoria at 13h00.
Two seasons ago, the Limpopo outfit was crowned champions.
This will be their fourth meeting, but only the third in the elite league.
The two sides cancelled each other out in 2023 with one win each, but the students sent a strong message with a 7-0 victory in their last clash after Copperbelt had won 2-1 in the first round.

The battle of the strugglers will take place in the second clash of the day when Royal AM welcomes newcomers Lindelani Ladies in the KwaZulu Natal Derby.
This is the first ever match between the two entities in the league.
Royal AM haven’t won a match in 2024 with four draws and two defeat in six games and lie 13th.
The new kids on the block started like a house on fire, winning their first fixture of the season, but have since gone off the boil with four draws and one defeat – leaving them second from bottom.
