The second weekend of the 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League dished out interesting results.
Richmond United FC were the biggest winners on Saturday when they fired seven past First Touch FC with no reply.
The clash took place in De Aar, Northern Cape.
The home side redeemed themselves after the disappointment of the first week when they lost 10-2 to JVW.
Witbank’s Coal City Wizards continued with their fine form, registering their second victory in as many matches.
Wizards travelled to Bethlehem and returned with all three points against the Tsunami Queens, winning 3-1.
It was not the start they were looking for, but Durban Ladies suffered a 1-0 loss to Thunderbirds Ladies.
The KwaZulu Natal outfit was playing their first match of the season after the league organisers postponed the opening fixture due to the floods caused by rains in the province.
After scoring double figures in their opening match, JVW FC continued where they left off as they defeated Ma-Indies 2-0 in Giyani, the latter suffering their second defeat in a row.
Only one match failed to produce a winner, as the spoils were shared between the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and Bloemfontein Celtic in a goalless draw in Cape Town. Both sides won their opening fixtures and will want to get back to winning ways to stay within touching distance with the pacesetters.
But action continues on Sunday when three matches will be played at one venue – the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
CR Vasco da Gama will face University of Johannesburg Ladies (UJ FC) at 09h00 with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies taking on Golden Ladies at 11h30, while TUT will welcome newcomers City Lads Ladies at 15h00.
As matters stand, JVW and Thunderbirds lead the pack on six points each with the former shooting to the top of the table due to a superior goal difference.
Celtic and UWC are on four points apiece, with Coal City Wizards completing the top five as they sit on three points.
