Hollywoodbets Super League back in full swing this weekend, only one fixture postponed

As previously reported by this publication, after a lot of starts and stops, the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League season will be in full swing this weekend, with the exception of only one fixture.

All 14 teams will be in action while the Richmond United Ladies vs the University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) clash has been postponed with no reasons given.

It will be the first time so many fixtures take place after the league season kicked off at the beginning of March – but to date only 15 matches have been played.

This was due to the contract negotiations that were taking place between the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the women’s football league sponsor, Hollywoodbets.

While full details have not been furnished, it appears everything is back on track, hence the commencement of the full fixtures.

Richmond United and Royal AM are yet to kick a ball this season, but the latter will get the taste of the action on Saturday (12 April 2025) against TS Galaxy Queens at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Mpumalanga, with a 3pm start.

The clash is one of six that will take place on the day.

Reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, who find themselves in unfamiliar territory in fourth position due to the fragmented start to the league season, visit newcomers the University of Cape Town at the Kopano Astro in the Mother City.

Other new kids on the block, Ezemvelo Ladies will be hoping to move from the bottom of the table when they travel to the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane to face Copperbelt Ladies.

With no win after three outings, TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies will be eager to turn things around as they welcome JVW at the TUT Main Campus in Tshwane.

At the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont, second from bottom Durban Ladies, who recently underwent a logo change, will be hoping for change of fortunes on the field against the visiting City Lads Ladies.

All the above games kickoff off at 3pm.

Second on the table, with two victories under their belt and a draw after three games, the University of Fort Hare (UFH) will be keen to continue with the momentum in the Varsity Derby against the University of Pretoria at the Tuks Main Stadium.

Kickoff here is at 1pm.

There is only one match on Sunday (13 April 2025).

The University of the Western Cape (UWC), who are third from bottom after two outings, will make the long trek to Polokwane to face First Touch Ladies at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium at 3pm.

Both teams are winless in the two fixtures they have played.
