FIFA Secretary General sends warm wishes on International Women’s Day

Today is International Women’s Day, and FIFA Secretary General, Fatma Samoura has sent a message of warm wishes to all the 32 qualified teams for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, in particular, the eight debutants – Haiti, Morocco, Panama, Philippines, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Vietnam, and Zambia.

With the official slogan of the tournament being Beyond Greatness, Ms Samoura reached out to all the eight nations with the question: What does Beyond Greatness mean to you?

The ninth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand, kicking and will take place from 20 July to 20 August.

Only seven countries will have appeared iin all all tournament since inception: Nigeria, USA, Sweden, Japan, Brazil, Norway and Germany.
