Draws dominate Hollywoodbets Super League weekend, including eagerly awaited clash of the titans

There were five six draws in the eight fixtures of the Hollywoodbets Super League played this past weekend (2/3 August 2025), with only three teams claiming victories.

Only 13 goals were scored, and three sides failed to find the back of the net.

Among those that shared the spoils was the highly anticipated clash of the titans between reigning Hollywoodbets Super League champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Both sides could not be separated and ended in a 1-1 draw at the UWC Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday (3 August 2025).

Litšeoane Maloro (11) – UWC

Lesotho international Litšeoane Maloro opened the scoring for the Capetonians in the 25th minute before Botswana forward Refiloe Tholakele restored parity in the second half (53’).

This is the second draw between the two sides in 12 meetings, with the Brazilians winning eight and UWC claiming victory in the other two encounters.

With the stalemate, Banyana ba Style remain top of the log standings on 32 points, one ahead of TUT Ladies who deadlocked 1-all with Copperbelt Ladies in Seshego.

The students have, however, played 17 games while Sundowns Ladies have completed only 14 matches.

This was the first time the two teams were in action following a six-week international break.
