Former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane has officially launched the Pitso Mosimane Soccer School (PMSS) program.
Held at the Maslow Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, the event was attended by, among others, Panyaza Lesufi – Gauteng Premier, Matome Chiloane – Gauteng MEC of Education, Walter Steenbok – SAFA Technical Director, as well as and Moira Tlhagale – MT Sports Managing Director.

“It is very important to have the support and endorsement from the Premier of Gauteng, Gauteng MEC ofEducation, SAFA, Curro Holdings, the media and all the honoured guests. I am very emotional about my dreamcoming alive and I hope we will have more stakeholders from all around the country supporting the PMSSprogramme further. Thank you for all your support, this means a lot to me. PMSS aims to accommodate every child that wants to play football, and with your help, we can reach as many children as possible and provide them with the correct training programme,” said Coach Pitso Mosimane, PMSS Founder.
PMSS’s mission is to guide and grow young footballers – male and female – to become technically, intellectually, andsocially equipped to succeed and excel in the competitive world of professional football.

The PMSS programme is already on-going at two Curro Schools: Meridian Cosmo City and Northern Academy, and inthree PMSS locations in Midrand, Boksburg, and North Riding, PMSS aims to take South African youth footballdevelopment by a storm.
PMSS caters for boys and girls between the ages of 6-years-old and 13-years-old. This strategy is in line with the PMSS objective, which is to “Create the Player of Tomorrow”, starting the player development journey at grassroots level.

“We are focusing on an Under-7 child. In the next 10 years, Coach Pitso Mosimane would like to see some girls and boys from the PMSS programme forming part of the South African national football teams,” said MoiraTlhagale, MT Sports, Managing Director.
The event was preceded by a launch video which gave insight into what the PMSS programme entails, regarding the philosophy, its coaches, and very excited young players. So detailed is the programme that they focus on age-appropriate training and one of those principles is ensuring each player has a ball during training sessions.

Former Banyana Banyana head coach, Augustine Makalakalane, has joined the programme as the coaches’ instructor.
As a player, he was once on the books of Jomo Cosmos, Mamelodi Sundowns and the now defunct Wits University before making a move abroad to Switzerland where he played for FC Zurich and FC Baden.
Makalakalane has made 14 appearances for his country and was part of the famous 1996 AFCON winning squad.
Also in the mix at PMSS is ex-Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City defender, Tlou Molekwane who is one of the coaches.

“As PMSS coaches, we know exactly what is expected of us. We are up for the challenge and understand how the program will produce the players of tomorrow. We always ensure that we create a very safe environment for the children and a very good learning experience. We always implement the fun element to the training sessions because the more the children have fun, the more they learn,” said Tlou Molekwane, one of the PMSS Coaches.
The media launch was also used to reveal the PMSS kit, which coincided with the announcement of PM Active – Pitso Mosimane’s own sportswear brand.

The kit was designed by #DressThePlayerofTomorrow social media competition winner, Matome Rasealea, in 2022.
MT Sports Marketing and Management, who manage the affairs of Pitso Mosimane, have been tasked with projectmanaging the PMSS business strategy and roll out – ensuring
Coach Pitso Mosimane’s legacy lives on.
