In a partnership with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and its players’ association (NWSLPA), Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) announced the latest addition as it continues to spotlight the women’s game.
All 12 NWSL clubs will become available across FIFA 23’s game modes—including Kick Off, Tournament Mode, and Online Friendlies. Plus, users will have the chance to play at four authentic NWSL stadiums.

Celebrating the NWSL’s forthcoming 11th season
The NWSL’s introduction to FIFA 23 comes 10 days before its 11th regular-season campaign begins on March 25. The move allows the league to expand its visibility within one of the world’s most popular gaming franchises.
“The athletes that call the NWSL home are some of the best in the world,” said NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman. “We’re excited for the opportunity to further showcase their talent through this unique gaming experience.”
Furthermore, the partnership allows the league to reach a wider audience ahead of this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup—kicking off this July in Australia and New Zealand.
“This is a thrilling time for women’s football,” said Meghann Burke, Executive Director of the NWSLPA. “And we’re looking forward to collaborating with EA SPORTS to champion the sport and create new opportunities for fans around the world to engage with these incredibly talented players.”

Joining the ranks of other women’s leagues
Upon its FIFA 23 debut, the NWSL will become the third domestic women’s league to feature in the game. It follows the Barclays Women’s Super League and the D1 Féminine in France.
“We’re passionate about EA SPORTS continuing to be a changemaker for women’s football, and our partnership with both the NWSL and the NWSLPA is another step we’re taking as an organization to advance the sport,” said Andrea Hopelain, SVP of Brand, EA SPORTS.
“We’re committed to being champions for the future of football and bringing unrivaled authenticity to millions of football fans across the globe.”
The UEFA Women’s Champions League will also become available in FIFA 23 on March 15.
Two new women’s competitions are ready to kick-off in FIFA 23 just as their real world counterparts are heating up.

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) joins the Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema as the third women’s football league on the eve of the 2023 season, and the UEFA Women’s Champions League brings European nights and four new clubs to the The World’s Game in anticipation for this year’s knockout stages.
Both competitions will be powered by the same dedicated Hypermotion2 driving the Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema in FIFA 23, with authentic match capture and machine learning technology creating authentic animation informed by the movement of real-life women’s players.
The NWSL and UWCL will be available and free for those with FIFA 23 starting on March 15, 2023
