TUT opens four-point gap at the top of Hollywoodbets Super League

There was hot action on Women’s Day as seven Hollywoodbets Super League matches were played across the country on Tuesday (9 August 2022).

Match week 15 saw a total of 29 goals scored with all the games producing winners, with log leaders Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) claiming the biggest victory after defeating the struggling Golden Ladies 5-1 in Montshioa, North West.

TUT Ladies

The result saw TUT open a four-point lead at the top of the table over defending champions and neighbours Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies who are involved in the CAF Women’s Champions League|COSAFA Zonal qualifiers currently underway in Durban.

After 15 matches – four more than the Brazilians – TUT is now on 34 points, five ahead of third-placed JVW who registered a convincing 4-0 drubbing against the Tsunami Queens at the Wits Sturrock Park Stadium. Captain Nompumelelo Nyandeni scored a hattrick.

UWC Ladies

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) kept their fourth spot on the table with a 4-2 victory over Durban Ladies at the Princess Magogo Stadium, while Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies fired three without any reply past a hapless City Lads Ladies in Hammersdale.

UJ Ladies

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) travelled to Polokwane and returned with all three points after they brushed aside First Touch in a 4-1 win.

Newcomers Vasco da Gama climbed into double digits on the points table with a 3-1 victory over Coal City Wizards in Witbank. This was Vasco’s third win of the season after 13 matches, which sees them occupy the 13th spot on 10 points.

Ma-Indies Ladies shot down the Thunderbirds Ladies in a 1-0 win in Giyani.
