Reigning Hollywoodbets Super League champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have opened a four point gap at the top following a come from behind 3-1 win over a struggling Durban Ladies.
The two sides met at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammersdale, KwaZulu Natal on Sunday (10 August 2025) in one of the eight fixtures on the day, where only draw was registered. A total of 22 goals were scored with every match seeing a goal.
This was the Banyana ba Style’s 12th win of the season in 16 matches, leaving them on 38 points. Coach Godfrey Sapula’s charges have played two draws and lost as many games.

Trouble is looming for bottom of the table Durban Ladies as they suffered their 12th loss of the current campaign, and are yet to win a game after 17 outings – with 13 left in the season. They have five points from the same number of draws.
They showed promised however when they took the lead in the fourth minute against the defending champions but collapsed a short while later, allowing the Brazilians two goals in the first half and another in the second stanza as Melinda Kgadiete grabbed a brace.

The biggest winners this weekend was TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies who thumped Royal AM 5-2 at the Tuks Main Stadium.
Thabiso Senyatsi walked away with the Player of the Match accolade after scoring a hattrick, with the victory keeping second on the log standings on 34 points after 18 matches.
Royal AM lies on the 15th spot on the table on 13 points after 19 outings – they are level with the 14th-placed Richmond United Ladies, who went down 2-0 at home (Merina Park) to JVW.
The Blue Diamonds, who are without the injured and influential Gabriela Salgado for the rest of the season, are fourth on the log standings on 31 points after 15 rounds of fixtures.

JVW is level on points with the third-placed TS Galaxy Queens who had to dig deep to return home from Polokwane with a point against Copperbelt Ladies. The match ended 1-1 after the Mpumalanga side found an equaliser in the second half. TS Galaxy has played 14 matches and Copperbelt 18.
Also on 31 points is the University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) who defeated First Touch Ladies 1-0 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium to occupy the fifth spot. The students, who recently lost two key players – Adrielle Mibe (USA) and Ayesha Moosa (Spain) – have completed 17 matches.

The struggle continues for the University of the Western Cape (UWC) who lost 2-0 in a Varsity Derby against the University of Fort Hare (UFH) in Cape Town.
After finishing in second position in the last two seasons, the Capetonians are in unfamiliar territory – currently 12th on the table – after 14 matches with 17 points.
They haven’t won a game in their last three outings – two draws and a defeat.
UFH are sixth on the table with 28 points after 17 fixtures.

The University of Pretoria collected maximum points in a 1-0 win over the visiting City Lads Ladies, while the University of Cape Town (UCT) registered a 2-1 victory against Ezemvelo Ladies.
Tuks is 10th on the table and UCT lies on the eighth spot.
