The battle for promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League for the 2026 season begins in earnest on Tuesday (9 December 2025) at the Vaal University of Technology Stadium. The final will be played on Saturday (13 December 2025) at the same venue.
Eight teams – respective provincial winners in the second tier SAFA Women’s League – will face off with only two gaining promotion to the South African elite women’s football league, but only one crowned as national champions.
The two teams that will gain promotion will replace the relegated Royal AM and Durban Ladies – both are from KwaZulu-Natal.

Compared previous years, there will only be eight teams in the field because the North West Province has been excluded after they failed to continue with their league season.
This means for the fourth season running, there will be no representative in the Hollywoodbets Super League from that province since the relegation of Golden Ladies in 2022.

| Province | Team | Group |
| Gauteng | Diepkloof Ladies | A |
| Western Cape | Stellenbosch | A |
| Northern Cape | Royal Wizards | A |
| Limpopo | Ramatlaohle | A |
| Free State | Central University | B |
| Mpumalanga | Super Strikers | B |
| Eastern Cape | 4800 Ladies | B |
| KwaZulu Natal | All Stars | B |

Three teams return for another shot at promotion – Ramatlaohle (Limpopo), Royal Wizards (Northern Cape) as well as Super Strikers (Mpumalanga).
After a long-running dispute between Gauteng Province League winners, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and the organisers – the matter has since been resolved and the Brazilians, who felt they needed to contest the play-offs have been excluded as they already have a team in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
Their place has been taken by Royal Lions who play under the name of Diepkloof Ladies following the acquisition of the latter’s status. Royals Lions will start using their full identity in the new season.
Central University of Technology from the Free State is the only university representative this time around – and victory for them means they will be joining the University of Cape Town (UCT), University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies), University of the Western Cape (UWC), University of Pretoria (Tuks), Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and the University of Fort Hare (UFH).
