Ramalepe on the mark as she lifts another trophy in Belarus

The Banyana Banyana celebrations for winning the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations have hardly died down, but defender Lebohang Ramalepe has already added to her silverware.

Two weeks after helping South Africa be crowned African Champions, the Limpopo-born petite player lifted her third Belarus Women’s Cup in a row on Saturday (6 August 2022) with Dinamo Minsk after they defeated bitter rivals FC Minsk 5-4 on penalties.

Both sides were goalless at the end of extra-time.

This is Ramalepe’s seventh trophy with the European outfit since she joined them in 2020 – and these are two league titles and five cup competitions.

In March of this year she lifted the Belarus Super Cup .

More silverware could be loading as Dinamo is top of the league table with 43 points after 15 outings.

But there is still some way to go with 12 games remaining, and Minsk are breathing down their necks just three points off the pace.

Rama’s side is yet to lose a game, with 14 wins and a draw.
