Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala has finished joint top goal scorer in Spain following an impressive 20 goals in 19 matches.
The Super Falcons striker, who runs out for women’s league champions Barcelona in the Primera Liga Iberdrola, shares the Pichichi award with Madrid forward Geyse Ferreira who has played eight more matches than the Nigerian in the league.

Oshoala is set to face the Sasol-sponsored Banyana after the South Africans were drawn in Group C of the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2022 alongside rivals and defending champions Nigeria. Also in the group are debutants Botswana and Burundi.
Desiree Ellis’ charges will open their 2022 account with a clash against the Super Falcons on the 4th of July.
The two nations met twice at the 2018 edition of the tournament – with one win apiece.
South Africa defeated Nigeria 1-0 in the group stages and lost in the final, with the Super Falcons prevailing on penalties in Ghana to lift their ninth title.
Banyana Banyana had the last laugh when they beat the West Africans in their last meeting at the Aish Buhari Cup where South Africa romped home with a 4-2 win.
Oshoala is a four-time African Women’s Footballer of the year becomes the first woman from the continent to claim the award in Spain.
