JVW’s Aliyaah Allie moves to Glasgow City FC

Hollywoodbets Super League side JVW will be without midfielder Aliyaah Alie after she completed a move to Glasgow City in the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL).

In signing for the club, the 18 year old follows in the footsteps of Banyana Banyana captain and JVW FC founder Janine van Wyk who was once on the book of the Scottish giants.

Allie is a product of the JVW Football Club Academy, and has played for South Africa in the U17 and U20 Women’s National teams.

“I’m excited to have signed my first pro-contract with Glasgow City. The team and staff have all been very welcoming and I’ve been enjoying every moment at training, on the pitch and off.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to grow and develop my football further here at Glasgow City,” said a delighted Allie on the club’s website after signing her first professional contract, where she will wear jersey number 20.

Her new coach, Eileen Gleeson, also commented about her latest signing.

“We are delighted to welcome Aliyaah Allie to Glasgow City. She is a composed athletic young midfielder who shows excellent potential and who will no doubt excel in a professional environment. We are excited to provide her with this opportunity and feel she will develop quickly and add depth to the squad.”

The midfielder is eligible to be in the squad to face Hibernian in the SWPL tonight (Friday, 16 December 2022).
