It was raining goals as the second round of the 2023 Hollywoodbets Super League season got underway, with eight matches on offer, and all of them producing winners.

Twenty goals (28) in total were scored over the two days of action.

Tuks Ladies 7 – 0 Copperbelt Ladies:

(First round: Copperbelt Ladies 2 – 1 Tuks Ladies)

The highest scorers was the University of Pretoria (Tuks Ladies), who walloped fellow newcomers Copperbelt Ladies 7-0 at the University of Pretoria Stadium, after taking a 3-0 half time lead.

It was sweet revenge for the students who suffered back to back losses against the Limpopo side – first in the Sasol League National Play-offs final, as well as in the opening match of the current campaign.

Tuks Ladies have now won five in a row, while Copperbelt Ladies have not tasted victory in four outings.

Royal AM 5 – 2 Ma-Indies Ladies:

(First round: Ma-Indies Ladies 0 – 2 Royal AM)

Royal AM also contributed immensely to the high number of goals this past weekend when they thrashed bottom-of-the-table Ma-Indies Ladies 5-2 in Hammersdale, KwaZulu Natal.

The visitors suffered their sixth loss in a row – 14th in total, with two draws.

Royal AM is fifth on the table.

UWC 1 – 0 Coal City Wizards:

(First round: Coal City Wizards 1 – 9 UWC)

The battle at the top continues to be fought between the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, with the trio of TS Galaxy, Royal AM and JVW piling on the pressure from a very short distance.

UWC ensured they stayed ahead of the hunting pack when they beat a stubborn Coal City Wizards 1-0 at the UWC Stadium in Cape Town – the visitors losing their sixth match in a row.

The Students won the corresponding fixture by a massive 9-1 score line in the first round.

The Capetonians are on 42 points, one ahead of the defending champions.

Richmond United 1 – 3 Sundowns Ladies:

(First Round: Sundowns Ladies 1 – 0 Richmond United)

Sundowns Ladies kept sight of the log leaders with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Richmond United who have gone off the boil, with no win in five matches.

The Northern Cape outfit has managed only one draw, while the Brazilians have registered shared the spoils only once in their last eight games, winning the others.

Banyana Ba Style have 41 points.

TS Galaxy Queens 1 – 0 City Lads Ladies: 15h00 share the spoils

(First round: City Lads Ladies 1 – 0 TS Galaxy)

Third-placed TS Galaxy Queens continue to bulldoze past everything in their path.

The newcomers overturned the first round result – the only blemish on their slate – beating City Lads Ladies 1-0 to retain their spot on the log standings.

The Rockets have not lost a match since that defeat to the Eastern Cape side at the beginning of the season, and sit on 37 points, four behind Sundowns Ladies.

UJ Ladies 3 – 0 Durban Ladies:

(First round: Durban Ladies 0 – 2 UJ Ladies)

The University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) got back to winning ways with a dominant 3-0 triumph over Durban Ladies – their first win in eight matches.

The Students also managed a double wins over the visitors, who lost the first round fixture 2-0.

The match was played at the UJ Stadium in Soweto.

Thunderbirds Ladies 0 – 2 JVW:

(First round: JVW 1 – 1 Thunderbirds Ladies)

(Second round: Thunderbirds Ladies 0 – 2 JVW)

JVW travelled to East London and returned with all three points in the bag after beating Thunderbirds Ladies 2-0 at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.

The result was an improvement for the Blue Diamonds who were held to a 1-all draw in the first round.

JVW lies on the fourth spot on the table, with Thunderbirds in 14th place and skating on thin ice as far as relegation is concerned.

TUT 1 – 2 First Touch:

(First round: First Touch 0 – 0 TUT)

After three wins in a row, the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) failed to make home advantage count and were brought down to earth by a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting First Touch.

The first round ended in a goalless stalemate.
