The Ghana Senior Women’s National Team, also known as the Black Queens, have appointed former Swiss international Nora Häuptle as their new head coach.
After initially acting as the Technical Advisor of Ghana’s U20 Women’s National Team, Häuptle takes over the coaching reigns of the Senior Women’s National Team from Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo, who was in charge on an interim basis.

The 39-year old Switzerland native holds a UEFA Pro Licence certificate.
She also a Masters in Sports Sciences and a Bachelor of Philosophy and Minor in Theatre Sciences.
Nora has previously worked for the Israeli Football Association as Head Coach and Women’s Director for the national team.
She also had a stint with SC Sand 1946 – a German Women’s Bundeliga club.

A former player for BSC Young Boys, FFC Zuchwil 05, FC Twente Enschede, FC Thun and the Switzerland Senior Women’s National Team between 1996 and 2010, Häuptle was once an instructor for the Swiss Football Association.
From 2009 to 2012 she was coach at FC Thun and later worked as a conditioning coach for Tennis player Romina Oprandi.
The new coach will be assisted by Joyce Boatey-Agyei – a Physical Education tutor, Coach of Kumasi Girls Senior High and former coach of the Girls U15 National Team. The second member of Nora’s coaching staff will be Aboagye Dacosta – head coach of Women’s Premier League club Ashtown Ladies in Kumasi as well as former Kumasi Asante Kotoko women’s team player.
