Women’s football continues to draw a lot of interest around the world.
This was evidenced when the sold out sign was raised within 24 hours of tickets going on sale for the much-anticipated clast between the England Women’s football team against the USA.
The fixture is set for 7 October at Wembley Stadium subject to England having secured World Cup qualification in September.

The match will pit newly-crowned European Champions and the reigning World Champions.
In what was a new record for Women’s football, 65-thousand tickets were sold on the first day.
The previous record of 50,000 in the first 24 hours was held by the UEFA Women’s Champions League match between Barcelona and VfL Wolfsburg at Camp Nou – and it went on to make history even further when they had an attendance record of 91,648.

With Wembley’s official capacity at 90-thousand, it stands to reason they won’t surpass the figure.
The excitement and growing interest for the English fans comes at the back of the Lionesses’ 2-1 extra-time victory on Sunday (31 July) over a strong and experienced German side to lift their maiden UEFA Women’s EURO title.

The thrilling fixture was watched by a crowd of 87,192, another record.
