After 19 rounds of fixtures, Durban Ladies are yet to win a match after suffering another loss in the Hollywoodbets Super League – their 14th of the season.
The founding members of the elite South African Women’s Football League are in serious danger of relegation following a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the University of Fort Hare, who have now moved to third position.
The KwaZulu Natal outfit is bottom of the table with only five points to their name, thanks to the same number of draws, while the students have 35 points – just six behind log leaders and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies who were off this weekend due to their participation in the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers currently underway in Johannesburg.

TS Galaxy Queens are in second place following an all-important 1-0 win over JVW in Mpumalanga. It was a crucial win for the Rockets as the visitors are the only team to claim three points from them this season. Earlier (April 2025) in the campaign they lost 2-0 to the Blue Diamonds. With 16 games into the season, The Rockets are on 37 points – four behind Sundowns Ladies who have played a match less. TS Galaxy have managed 11 wins – second best to the Banyana ba Style who have 13 – with four draws and remain the only team to have lost just once. JVW drop to the sixth spot from fourth, with 32 points after 17 outings.

Copperbelt Ladies were the big winners this past weekend, netting four goals without any reply from the struggling Royal AM, who have now lost 14 of the 21 fixtures they have played. The second from bottom side has managed only three wins and four draws, leaving them on 13 points. Copperbelt Ladies are seventh on the table.

The other team that went on a goal-scoring spree was the University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) who claimed bragging rights in the Varsity Derby against TUT Matsatsantsa by winning 4-2, with Thato Mofolo scoring a brace for the Orange Army. The Tshwane outfit fell from second to fifth spot following the defeat, while UJ Ladies climb up to fourth from sixth.

Amatuks were made to sweat in their 1-0 victory over Limpopo’s First Touch Ladies – with the match seeing the long-awaited return to action of forward Wendy Shongwe for the Tshwane outfit. She has been on the injury list for about 17 months – and she walked away with the Player of the Match award after being on the field for only 15 minutes. Amatuks are 10th on the table with 23 points after 20 matches, while First Touch lie 13th with 19 points from the same number of games.

Also walking away with a hard-fought 1-0 win were the City Lads Ladies who defeated hosts the University of Cape Town (UCT) in the Mother City.
Only one match ended in a stalemate with the University of the Western Cape (UWC) being held to a 1-all draw by Richmond United Ladies in the Northern Cape. The hosts are third from bottom while the Blues lie on the 12th spot.
