Fresh from a convincing 8-0 win over Royal AM, reigning Hollywoodbets Super League champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies dropped valuable points as they were held to a goalless draw by Copperbelt Ladies. This is the only match that failed to produce goals this past weekend.
The result saw the table-topping Banyana Ba Style halt their five- match winning streak, leaving them on 16 points – five ahead of a resurgent University of Fort Hare (UFH), who have also played six games.
UFH was in an uncompromising mood as they brushed aside newcomers the University of Cape Town (UCT) 7-2 in a Varsity Derby in the Mother City.
TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies travelled to Cape Town and returned with all three points as they beat the University of the Western Cape (UWC) 1-0 in the other Varsity Derby.
UWC have not had a good start as have now lost three games in four outings – they finished second in the last two seasons.
After five matches, Royal AM is still in search of their first point – with five defeats in a row. Following the latest 3-1 loss to JVW, the KwaZulu Natal outfit has conceded 20 goals and are bottom of the table.
Slightly above them on the 15th spot are Richmond United who have played two games and suffered the same number of defeats. They lost 2-3 at home in a five-goal thriller against the University of Pretoria (Tuks).
Ezemvelo Ladies had too much firepower for City Lads Ladies, grabbing their second win of the 2025 campaign in a 2-0 victory.
The struggle continues for Durban Ladies as they were at the end of a 3-0 result against First Touch Ladies. The KwaZulu Natal side has managed only one point after four matches.
