Former Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies head Jerry Tshabalala got baptism of fire in a league opener in the Morocco Women’s Championship Division 1 Féminin as his new team, Sporting Club Casablanca lost 3-0 to FUS Rabat on Saturday (13 September 2025).
This was the South African’s first official match in charge since he was appointed head coach in July.
SCC trailed 0-3 at the break.
“I think in the first half we played with a lot of fear, perhaps understandable as this is our first match of the season and also, I was in charge for the first time. But we tried to turn things around in the second half where we had a very good spell,” said Tshabalala from Casablanca.
“We had a wonderful second half and we missed opportunity after opportunity. SCC were also handed a penalty which we missed. But I think our second half performance is something we can build on, which gives me confidence about the journey ahead.”

This was also the first win for FUS against SCC in seven league outings after suffering five defeats and one draw.
Tshabalala will be hoping the get their campaign on track when they host Itihad Tanger Football Féminin, otherwise known as ITFF, who lost 4-0 in their league opener against Club Sportif Hilal Temara, known as Hilal Temara or HST.
Last season ITFF finished in eighth position.
